Dark Fibre Submarine cable across Sydney harbour from Dawes Point to Blues Point.
Global Utility Construction completed a Dark Fibre submarine cable harbour crossing for our client Nexthop.
Nexthop is a privately funded Licensed Telecommunications Carrier that provides wholesale dark fibre and IP connectivity services with a constructed, owned and operated network.
As part of Nexthop’s network rollout, TeamGUC planned and executed a submarine cable crossing from the Southern Side Breakout at Dawes Point to Blues Point Reserve at McMahons Point. Works included installing a Prysmian Group – 720F submarine cable and the stripping of the external sheathing to allow the cable to be hauled into the Telstra Network on the North & South sides of the Harbour.
Pre-works for the submarine cable installation also involved scoping and designing a suitable location for a breakout pit and splice enclosures. Global also partnered with Diving Co, which completed the diving and installation of the Submarine Cable Crossing across the Harbour.
Our hauling team installed a 720F from the existing joint in Grosvenor St Sydney to the newly installed breakout at Dawes Point beside the Western Side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge
We could not have delivered this project without close collaboration with our Construction Partners Nexthop, Diving Co and Prysmian Cables.
A huge thank you must go out to all the Global Staff involved and assisted in delivering this project on time and budget for our Client Nexthop.
